Star system is no good

First of all, love your site and have probably dropped hundreds of $ based on your reviews.

My basic complaint, not unique to your site, is that the star system is no good. Tomorrows 10 is tomorrows's 7 or 8. Quality improves, value improves. So what do you do when something comes along much better than todays 10 star? Can't do a thing!

Well you are sort of right regarding the star system. About 1 year or so ago we made a total rework of our database including an update of our scores. Not so much because of the technological development but because we wanted to make it harder to get a good score - like on IMDB where it takes A LOT to get a score above 7/10.

However it is my experience that sites that at the time of a review get a high score, also continue to evolve with the technology and therefore continue to be worthy of a high score in e.g. Content Quality.

Let me take an example: Simonscans (http://www.adultreviews.net/review/show/10375/index.html). When they were reviewed, the standard picture size was 1124x748. In the mean time they upgraded to 1648x1098. This means a photo set in zipped format will take up to as much as 100 mb or even more. And the camerawork, lighting and everything else is still top notch as always.
This is a site still worthy of 9.5/10 in content quality even though the review is soon going to be 2 years old.

I do recognize your doubts though, and given there are some sites that don't upgrade their content quality, and we try to revisit our most popular sites from time to time to follow up on them and make sure they still provide as good quality as when they were first reviewed.
