| Review summary: Karup's PC has been online for 10 years. That alone is a remarkable fact, but during the 10 years they have collected over 1 million pictures available on the site. Quality is good, and updates are frequent and plentiful. Recommended! |
Whoa! Over 1 million exclusive photos!?! Good grief! No wonder they've been rated one of the best adult sites consistently for years! The tour is laid out nicely with a good indication of what we'll find inside. I'm impressed with the care they take to regularly update their tour with free content. I hope they'll take as much care on the inside. I also like the notations by each model of how many photo sets she has. That way, if you perk up to particular amateur, you'll know how much of her content is available in Karups Private Collection.
Once inside, there's a note indicating they've made their members' area easy to navigate. It does seem easy, although there are a couple links that lead to the same place (i.e., Feeds and Model Index). Also, it's a bit confusing that at the top of the entry page are advertisements for their other projects: Karup's DVDs, Karup's Hometown Amateurs, and Karup's Older Women. You have to scroll below all that to get to the actual meat of the members' area.
The update box is very detailed with the dates and links to the new content. I like when the date is indicated. I'm always suspicious of sites that don't include their add date because you wonder how long the supposed "latest update" has been sitting there. The updates are regular, as promised on the tour. Here's an example of one week's updates: 36 sizable photo galleries and 16 movies of between two to four clips each.
To the right of this almost two month long list are tabs to Karups numerous content. Tabs include Collections 1 through 5; Movie Collection (homegrown videos); Feeds Collection (around 20); Model Index (searchable by first letter of model's name or entire name); and another reminder of Karups DVD Store. The latter contains Karups' DVDs for sale. They cost $19.95 for an hour of run time. The DVDs contain some of the videos found on the Karups sites in full DVD quality. The categories are solo, girl/girl, and girl/boy.
The five photo collections are broken down into "chapters" that contain various albums.
Collection 1 contains Amateurs (Albums numbered 6 to 211), Models (6 to 222), and Teens (6 to 220). Collection 2 contains Asians (Albums 6 to 60), Exotics, which contains all other ethnicities (6 to 63), and Older Women (6 to 58). Collection 3 reveals Anal (Albums 1 to 8), Guy/Girl (6 to 170), and Blowjobs (1 to 21). Collection 4 divides into Girl/Girl (Albums 6 to 159) and 3 or More (Albums 6 to 91). Collection 5 contains Girls with Toys (6 to 196), More Babes (6 to 355), and More Sex (6 to 110).
Each of these albums then opens up to 84 x 126 pixel sized thumbnails (usually 9 or 12 of them). These thumbnails lead to galleries. Confused? Don't be. It's easier once you see it, but takes a little bit getting used to. Just think of it as a big book divided into sections, chapters, and headings. Most of these galleries are good sized - all the way up to 100 pictures. There are some that have only a few pictures, though. The lower numbered albums contain the older content (late 1990s), so quality and picture size vary. The older ones are usually around 800x525 pixels or 388x600. The newer pictures open to 682x1024 or 1152x766 size. Overall the content is very good, especially the later sets. You can zip download the photos, but only the pictures that appear on that individual gallery page. There's no option of zipping the entire gallery.
Whew! It's not hard to believe there are a million photos on this site after quickly going through how the collections and albums are set up. But Karups doesn't contain just photos. There's the Homegrown Movie Collection, which is again broken down into albums. These are numbered from 1 to 271. Each album opens to your choice of eight movies. As with the photo albums, the higher numbered albums contain the most recent and better quality movies. The older movies are also shorter in length - around a couple minutes - and show in a smaller screen. The newer movies show in a 640x480 screen and are around 10 minutes, with some considerably longer. These are divided into movie clips. They have very good sound, quality and close up shots. Please note you'll need Windows Media Player to view these movies. They come in WMV movie and Mpeg files. Buffering and downloading don't take very long, which is pleasant.
Karups Private Collection was established in 1997, so it's no wonder they have a lot of content! Even though the older photos and videos aren't as up to par in quality as today's standards, I like the "vintage" stuff kept in the members' area. After all, porn is porn, and a pretty girl is a pretty girl. Karups has a huge load of both. I wish navigation was a bit easier, but considering how much amateur content is in there, it'd be a herculean task to catalog it. In fact, rumor has it that this herculean task is going on at the moment, which should result in up-to-date navigation and quality standards when it is complete. My hat is off to them for being around for so long and still churning out good porn.
