Search for reviews of the site
A review will get you a good idea of how well the site delivers its promises and often a detailed explanation of the content you can find.
Do your own research
It is also a good idea to look for the site’s USC 2257 compliance notice. The 2257 notice contains info on where the authorities can find the legal documents certifying that the models on the site are at least 18 years old. If a site does not have such a notice, it is a sign that it is not a very serious site.
This example of an update list is from FTV Girls. Read our review here.

If you are not sure that the site is something for you, it is a good idea to start with a single month membership, which is not recurring. When the membership expires and if you like the site, you can choose a membership that provides a better deal.

Many sites provide trial memberships which is often a 3 or 5 day membership for only a few bucks. However this should indeed be considered a trial membership since it often is restricted by e.g. download limits etc. Another thing to consider is that you are often required to unsubscribe with a very long notice unless you want to continue as a member of the site at full price. Also make sure you don’t automatically become a member of a “bonus site” that charges full price right away.
In general we do not recommend trial memberships, instead choose a single month non-recurring membership for the first month.

Be sure to find out when you must cancel your membership to avoid another month and how you can do it (ie. the URL of the cancellation form)

Keep track of the bills
There is also the possibility of a charge back where you claim a refund, but that often leads to the credit card being blacklisted at some credit card processors.
If it is the site that has made a mistake, then start by contacting their customer service and keep the dialogue in a positive and realistic tone. That will by far get you the furthest.
