First impression

Well, well... actually I didn't exactly get any 'amateur' associations when I saw this site the first time, nor the second... or third. Rather it struck me as a fairly pro site probably due to the overall site design.

Don't get me wrong... it's just that if one is to judge the book by its cover I would bet this to be a CLASSICAL pro porn site rather than some dude fiddling with his new digicam and old school HTML... did I mention that the front is picture heavy with lots of hardcore flashes and some of these models look quite pro to me as well;-)

Hmm... I guess the next step is to find out exactly what kind of 'amateur' action is going on behind the velvet curtains and the neon lights.

Okay, Uk Amateur Sexland IS a HUGE site with lots of action... anyway, let's jump right into it:

Navigationwise, the site offers plenty of options in terms of menu structures and sorting options in categories. All is relatively simple and neatly arranged at topbar menu supplemented by an additional leftside menu. Some might yell overkill, and it does tend towards it, but theoretically it comes in handy as this site is stacked with a total of 1187 photo sets with 111,127 pictures, and a fairly impressive amount of Movie Clips: 151 movies lasting 3,425 minutes.

One thing that made me somewhat displeased however, was the fact that the search option seemed completely irrelevant as it returns zero, nothing, ZIP no matter the input... this was even the case for some menu options as well. The consequence of these mishaps is that the members are forced to do a model-oriented approach.

Luckily this is usually a reasonable and well working approach. At UK Amateur Sexland this is particularly the case as the models are listed alphabetically by name complemented by well resembling thumbnails. However, for those desiring a specific kind of action the disabled search feature might be a serious issue. E.g. it's a bummer when you try to access the video section and the outcome is... well, lets say fruitless.

This leads me to some of the tech specs of the site... it has its pros and cons as well:

On the pro side comes the pictures which really are great. Decent resolution 1024x680, great shots of great models, nice action (virtually no solo series) and the pics are generallty neatly arranged. Finally, there're LOTS and LOTS of 'em... and the some!

On the other hand the video resolution simply doesn't make the cut for full screen mode even if the best quality clips are chosen. The movies come in wmv and real player formats and is optimized towards 56k, 128k and 256k connection speed. Both streaming as well as downloading are relatively effortless with a download speed between 30 and 40 KB/s - on a 1MBit broadband connection this makes a good 2 minute clip finish downloading in approximately 1 minute and unfortunately it takes half an hour clips a good 15 minutes to complete. On a faster 2 MBit connection I was later able to achieve 206 KB/s though.

On the negative side these movie clips are simply not geared towards full screen resolution, and the quality is reasonable at best with 320x240 pixels and a bit rate of max 247 kbit/s. This is hardly comforting considering the general high standards one is accostumed to these days. Perhaps this is the main issue here.. the content quality seems geared towards the web of yesterday rather than the web of tomorrow.

On the positive side; this site IS huge and although the 'amateur' edge may seem at bit worn these days, the model standard is surprisingly high considering the theme (no pun intended). One thing that did strike me was that these girls may LOOK like innocent amateurs, but most are HOTTIES and they certainly don't act innocent on camera. It is mostly the highly attractive 'girls next door' hanging around here it seems... As such the approach of the site is highly classical. The girls are the focus of attention and likewise this is the greatest asset of the site. It's good ol' school action here ranging from hardcore to... well, hardcore!!! :-)

Conclusion

This leads me to the MAJOR asset of UK Amateur Sexland; it may very well be that the site characterizes itself as an amateur site; half the menu features may be out of order or empty, heck, "Update" is spelled "UPADATE" etc.! Bottom line is nevertheless pleasing due to the GREAT model quality and the amount of original content. On the other hand some may argue that little new land is covered here and I concur.

Most scenes do seem instructed the classical way with some sort of crew, and the material is thus NOT recorded the old style handheld "hell-I'll-just-shoot-it-all-by-myself-dogma" -way... and honestly; thank God...! As long as the performances are sincere and interesting and as long as the models aren't boring silicone-stuffed prototypes.

In other words; this site is most likely to please people with at taste for original amateur stuff, great looking natural models and those leaning towards pro instructed action and I can recommend the site to those roaming the web with a low-width connection or a slow modem. It's resonably priced and you probably won't run short of fresh faces with some 400 female amateurs to choose from.

All this may in fact for most make up for the technical inconsistencies of the site, however I must emphasize to any high-end web audience that you may end up somewhat displeased by the fact that UK Amateur SexLand is not all about perfect fullscreen digital movie standards and effortless navigation. One exception is actually the pictures which in fact are pretty good quality shots and the story archive may appeal to a broader audience as well!
