First impression

Having looked at a number of single-model amateur sites now, I can't say I was overly excited to go down that road again. Too often the feature attraction, however beautiful, just doesn't seem to have the skill or the imagination to keep things interesting. Coupled with licensed "bonus" content that's been around the web long enough to seem familiar to even casual porn surfers, the amateur, one-woman limitation has often been enough to turn me completely on a site. Entering ninaknowsbest.com, however, I'm immediately forced to adopt a more open-minded position. The site design is sharp (for amateur sites), and the homepage logo/banner includes a sassy little cartoon caricature of the site's star and creator. Perhaps I'm paying too much attention to the cartoons, but reading through a bit of the "about me" writing on the site, I quickly get a sense of an intelligent (and quite cute!) New Yorker who's got enough self-consciousness and creative flair to pull off a stand-out example of the do it yourself porn site while taking things lightly enough to have a bit of a laugh at herself along the way.

Moving on to the actual content, I realize I've got some pretty high expectations for what Nina has to offer. I've read her little bio about being generally inexperienced with girl-girl work and the porn industry more generally, and I've have taken pretty seriously her promise that "everything on my site is real; I don't fake sex or my orgasms and I don't run around and shoot pictures with people I don't want to have sex with just to get the content." In short, what this means is that Nina has sex only with her boyfriend, a pleasant looking, balding bloke in his late-20's or early-30's. I don't hold monogamy against her, surely, but potential members should be advised that the "very hot, very real sex" Nina claims to participate in involves the same partner throughout.

Getting into the photo galleries, I'm curious to see what the "twisted role play" Nina mentions on her homepage is all about. Before I can really get a sense for the range of scenarios play-acted in the shoots, though, I'm overwhelmed by the sheer volume of still photography. Perusing each of the seven pages of photo galleries, I count a total of 90 sessions on offer; some as small as 20 photos, many with more than 100. Granted, a number of them seem a bit uninspired -- the most recent gallery added, "my favorite hat," includes nudie shots of Nina before her mirror in, gasp, a red felt hat -- but others more than make up the occasional lack of creativity. Amongst my favorites are the photo series including Sarah the Amish girl (surely that's not what the garden veg are for!), Lenore the nerd girl (Eew!, you're never gonna get yer reading glasses clean now), and the cute little cave girl who defrosts to find herself in a scientist's lab with a tongue between her thighs.

Clearly, the humor here is a welcome addition to what might otherwise seem a few too many galleries of the same naked bodies. Though the films and archived web-cam vids pick up a few of the role-playing threads (Babycakes the $10 hooker and the nerd couple, namely) they're generally pretty straightforward sucking, fucking, and masturbation scenes. This is a good thing, mind you, as the photos often fall short of the "hardcore" distinction in their angles and subject matter. Longer films are conveniently subdivided into 5-20 meg. segments, giving dial-up users better access, and I quickly download a number of short clips of Nina playing with herself and her man. To my great pleasure, the video quality is good and the camera work decent. Usually it's just mounted on a tripod, but occasionally the boyfriend stands in as cameraman and gets in a bit closer to the action. And, lest I forget: the action is *hot*. Not "hot" in the conventional XXX sense, by which I mean screaming stars, anal, d.p., and the lot, but "hot" in the sense that Nina actually knows how to relax in front of the camera and get off.

Now if the idea of watching a pretty young woman lie on a couch and masturbate until orgasm isn't really your idea of cutting edge porn, you may want to pass on this site at this point. There aren't a lot of vids at ninaknowsbest.com, and of what there is in the webcam and video gallery, much of it does involve masturbation. If seeing genuine female pleasure is your bag, however, I'm happy to endorse Nina's promise that all the coming on her site is kosher and to highly recommend the site overall as a charming little addition to the growing flood of amateur web porn.

Conclusion

A sassy webmistress, creative photo shoots, and video shorts of genuine sexual pleasure shared between an intimate hetero couple are sufficient to make this site a winner in my books. In case that's not enough, however, the downloadable exclusive videos, "Webcamz" live performances, and the numerous and conveniently cross-referenced bonus amateur galleries should put this site decisively over the top. At $17 for a month's membership, this one's a no-brainer in the value department, as well, provided of course that you're comfortable with Nina's looks and the do it yourself amateur porn aesthetic. Not flawless or trend setting, per se, but loads of fun and great value!
